I had this problem this morning and my father and I found the answers without the instruction manual. The instructions that I was able to locate for the Iwave 500, were not correct; at least not for my set up. The trick is this, the ear opposite the scan button is where the batteries go. After some trial and error, we discovered that there is a battery compartment located on the ear opposite the scan button. To get to the compartment, you have to slide down on the ear. If you look close enough you’ll see that there is a circular break in the plastic which will allow you to push down, away from the strap which holds the earphone on your ear.
Believe me, It took my father an I an hour to achieve success. We unscrewed all the screws on the one ear, the ear that the online instructions told us to look at, and it was the incorrect ear. Upon unscrewing the second ear, we achieved success.
My headphones are all black, with a red RCA wire and a black headphone jack wire. Good luck with the insanely cheap, insanely difficult headphones that I have not tested yet to see if the will pick up a signal! Thanks…
