I don’t really review games but I thought I’d write something cause I like this game.  For more thorough reviews check out your usual gaming sites.

I never got a chance to play the God of War series on the PS2.  And thought about getting a PS2 just to play it but why when it’s outdated?  When the GOW collection came out on PS3, I snatched it up.  The graphics are amazing for a game this old.  It almost, just almost, looked like a native PS3 title.  They really did a good job re-mastering it.  What’s funny is, the in-game cinematics look really blurry from upscaling the game.  They probably rendered it at a certain resolution and was not able to re-render them again in higher quality.  So when you play the game, it’s very crisp and clean and it cuts to a cinematic, it looks blurry.  Usually it’s the opposite.  The intros and story scenes are always rendered in high quality 3D and you wished you can play your game looking like that.  Anyways, most of the time, you’re hacking and slashing in the game, so that’s where the graphics count.

My first exposure to GOW was on the PSP so finally being able to play the big screen version was like night and day.  I think it was a great idea for Sony to re-release this game on PS3.  There are some people who skipped a console generation and missed this awesome title.  I’m definitely buying a copy of GOW3 in March.
